Pool Timers/ Automation Systems

Whether you have a Manual Switch, Pool Timer or a Elaborate Automation System it serves one purpose, to turn things off and on.

Running your pool system can save or cost you money.

Things you can do to cut back operating cost

  • Ensure your not running your pump system 24 hours a day.
  • Run your system minimum (8 consecutive hours) a day, not 3 in the morning and 5 at night, or vice versa.
  • You should know your water volume, filter capacity and pump size to determine the correct amount of water turn over your pool needs to give you optimal performance from your chemicals / sanitation.  This alone can save you from over usage when it comes to chlorination or specialty treatments. Adjust your pools runtime based on your calculations, doing this can help with the circulation of the pool which provides assistance with dead spots most pools have , such as corners and near steps, which can allow algae to set up.
  • ( Automation Timers ) Periodically check your timers after an electrical outage or storm, sometimes the systems can experience a time change due to the backup battery being dead or missing.  This sometimes causes the inside control panel to change dates which will make your system turn on or off at different times of the night or day costing you more money.
